Mixing Textures

Boots - Rachel's Boots // Outfit - Down To Earth // Photos - Rachel Kaye Photography

From suede to knit to leather this outfit is fullll of different texture and fabrics, and i'm not going to lie, I kind of love it! I'm loving cropped sweaters for this fall, I think they're a cute way to funk up an outfit and add some "coolness" and "trendiness" to an outfit.

Purple Lace

Outfit - Down To Earth (Can you tell I'm obsessed with this store?!) // Photography - Rachel Kaye Photography // Rachel's Style Blog

I'm completely in love with this dress. I think it can be a great transitional dress but also will be gorgeous in the winter. Pair some black tights and booties with it, oh I cannot wait!
Yesterday was awesome I spent time with Rachel from Rachel Kaye Photography and we just drank tons of lattes, talked and did photos. Sounds like a fab day to me.

Five Trends That Will Always Be "In"

1 // White Pants
White pants are refreshing any time of the season. Well, white in general, people say no white after labor day but I think white in the winter is a breath of fresh air.

2 // Stripes
Stripes will truly go with anything; it's the easiest pattern to mix and match. You can do just about anything with it to reflect your personal style.

3 // Plaid
Although plaid is pretty big this fall it's really a pattern that is always "in" and "on trend." Plaid is also one of those patterns that are pretty easy to mix and match with others, as long as you pick the right color combinations.

4 // Polka Dots
Polka dots is truly one of my absolute favorites. I think they can be dressed up and can come off super preppy or they can be dressed down and can be worn with a "street style" feel. You'll never go wrong with polka dots.

annnd lastly,

5 // Your Little Black Dress
Yes, your beautiful, sassy, sexy little black dress; it is in and always will be. This is something that you can wear any time of the year and it is perfectly acceptable!

Bagel Omelet Breakfast

This morning Matt and I had a pretty freaking fantastic breakfast. We attempted and I say attempted because I've never made an omelet before and not knowing to only put 2 or 3 eggs in I decide to put in 7 because it seemed like the right thing to do?? Not sure.. But I did it anyway. So the omelet turned out gigantic but luckily my parents bought us these circular egg cooker things so it was easier cut the omelet to fit the bagels. Thanks, Mom and Dad! Anyways, these don't look the prettiest but they are the yummiest. They were so delicious and I through in a ton of cheese which anything is better with cheese in my opinion. They're not the healthiest but yah know 80/20 and you're good.

Recipe / Ingredients

Hand full of spinach, half of a large pepper, 1/4 cup of chopped onion and cheese. (A lot of cheese)

Now just make an omelet like you would, I'm not going to tell you how to make an omelet because I completely winged it if you'd like a tutorial on the right way to make an omelet you can read here. :)

Then I used the little circle cut out egg things like I mentioned above ^^^ and used those to cut out the perfect circle to fit on the bagel. You can prep your bagel however you'd like. We have a NuWave so we wrapped the bagels in tinfoil and let the bagels warm up for about 10 min so that they'd be warm but not too crispy.

Annnnnd that's about it! Hope you guys enjoy this and hope you give it a try!

Coffee Scrub DIY

DIY Coffee Scrub

I know it looks like poo ^^^ but hear me out..
So today we're going to get a little personallll or a little TMI. Since it's getting a little cooler the skin is getting a bit dry and itchy but when I read an easy DIY using coconut oil, ground coffee, cinnamon and honey I thought i'd give it a go. Guess what, VOILA it works wonderful!
So here are the benefits,

DIY Coffee Scrub

Ground Coffee
Coffee is full of antioxidants which makes it a great anti-inflammatory. The caffeine brings out moisture from your skin to help it look softer and firm. It's a great exfoliant removing the dead skin cells off of your skin making it super soft and bright!

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is full of vitamins and minerals which will make your skin super soft and moisturized. Heres a great article on the benefits of Coconut Oil and you can read my post I did here about 50 uses of coconut oil.

Cinnamon
This helps your skin clear up from bacteria it brings your blood to the surface and will smooth out fine lines.

Honey
Honey is super soothing to the skin and also (research says) that honey can help speed up the healing of wounds. Honey also helps why dry/combo skin. It's an antibacterial so helps with acne. It's also full of antioxidants so great for aging and is very moisturizing so helps your skin have that glow we all strive for. One more plus, helps to clarify pores, it opens them up so it's easy to unclog.
After using this scrub (if using on the face) It'd be great to do an at home facial mask to help clarify the skin even more.

Autumn Feels

Outfit - Down To Earth \\ Sunglasses - Forever 21 \\ Purse - Aldo

If you've read my last few posts, you'd already know how excited I am for fall, to some it's too early, but I'm defiantly loving this cooler weather. This entire outfit is from Down To Earth in downtown Grand Haven, and I'm completely obsessed with it. When I first tried on this sweater I was a little scared it'd be itchy like most, but I can hardly get out if it; it's the softest and most comfortable sweater I own.

Transition Into Fall

White After Labor Day
So there are so many "fashion rules" One of them being no white after Labor Day, and I actually 100% disagree with that. I think white in the fall and winter is refreshing, so don't pack away those trousers or your white blazer. Here, here and here a couple white pieces that you should make sure are in your closet for this fall/winter.

Good Pair of Skinny Jeans
They're great for tall and short boots. Some staple jeans you can find herehere and here Now I believe anyone can wear skinny jeans, they just need to be the right fit. There's a pair out there for you ladies, no worries. (personal experience) I had a hard time finding skinnies that looked good on me, since my waist is so short if I'd wear low rise they just had a super odd fit and didn't look right. So now I know I have to wear jeans that come up a little bit higher to fully cover my hips (since my hips are pretty much up to my rib cage.) But it took a while for me to figure it out, so no worries if that first few pair you try on don't seem to fit right, you will find a pair that hugs your perfectly.

Fuller Scarfs
I think scarfs and snoods are almost every girls fall staple piece. When I find one scarf, and it seems like I wear it all fall and winter long. Even if you're still sportin' the summer dresses, just toss on your full scarf and call it good. Find one herehere and here

Bring your Summer Looks to Fall
Get a few more wears out of that summer dress before the snowfall comes. (or that clearance summer dress that you just bought last week.... Anyone...?)

1 \\ One of the easiest things you can do, and actually my absolute favorite is just throw on some ankle booties and call it good! Since the cooler days do seem to be making their way, it's probably best you cover up those toesies! My favorite ankle booties are herehere and here.

2 \\ Throw A cozy sweater over your flowy number! Like, herehere and here.

3 \\ Breakout that leather jacket, NO it's not too early for that. In fact, I think it's quite late, I think a leather jacket is a great staple piece for any season. Find some gems herehere and here.

Welllll, I hope you guys enjoyed these little tips on transitioning to fall! xo

Fall Florals

Floral Dress - Down To Earth // Must Love Shoes - Nicole Shoes // Purse - Aldo // Millies Leash - Must Love Dogs // Forever 21 -  Sunglasses << So Cheapp!!!

Happy Tuesday Guys! I hope you all had a great start to your week and enjoy the rest of it! I don't think I can express my love enough for this dress and these shoes. First off the shoes are from Must Have Shoes, and I'm officially addicted to their site. Their collection of shoes are beautiful, and I truly couldn't believe the quality of these heels when I received them. Two thumbs up Must Have Shoes!!

Also this dress, so I don't know about you but where we live its that awkward in between season where in the morning its quite chilly but then in the afternoon it gets a bit warmer, so you just never know exactly what to wear. This dress is perfect, it's still a bit "flowy" and "summery" but then it has a sleeve and fall colors. It's just all over perfection and I can totally see this taking me through fall and winter with some tights, scarf and booties!
